Susan Perry, Travis Shannon, Briana Dovi and Curt McKneely have all left this weekend to begin classes at Angelo State University.

We extend our sympathy to the family of Mike Allred.  Mike's father, Jerry Allred was raised in Cherokee.  Services for Mike were held in Kingsland on Tuesday.  We send our prayers and love to Jerry, Alberta and Angela.

Fern Woolsey is home recovering from surgery.

The Baptist Youth had an end of the summer party at the home of Larry and Marsha Mckneely.  They enjoyed an afternoon of hamburgers, games and swimning.

Sidonne Thornton has been staying at Bend with Jackie and Charlene Brister.  She has not been feeling well.

It was nice to see Roddy Maddox back at church Sunday.

The first Cheorkee Photo History Day will be held on Saturday, October 13 at the Cherokee School Cafeteria.  Bring any old photos of family, buildings, businesses, animals, papers and records or history books of early Cherokee and surrounding areas you would be willing to share.  More information will follow in the weeks ahead or contact Sue Broyles at 325-622-4242.

Nettie Jean Randolph's son-in-law, Paul Jenschke is home from Iraq.  Kelli, Paul and Ashley live in Fredericksburg.

We have a new business in Cherokee.  Cristy Austerman and Nicole Reyes has opened a pre-k and day care.  The daycare opened this week.  We wish them the best!

Michael and Lynda Randolph vacationed in Idaho last week.

The Church of Christ had Vacation Bible School last week.

If you have news, drop it off at the Cherokee Grocery or send it to srhoa...@centex.net
