The Cherokee United Methodist Church honored the senior class of 2007 with a
fajita dinner catered by David Griffith of Llano at the Cherokee Fire
Station on Tuesday, May 1.  All of the seniors and their parents were
present.  Jenny Tucker, pastor of the church, gave a short talk and
presented each of the seniors with a small gift from the church.  Connie
Lynn Perry  honored the senior girls and their mothers with a luncheon at
her house on Saturday, May 12, 2007.  Those present were Briana Dovi and
Mary Ann Perry, Amanda and Cristy Austermann, Markie and Donna Roberts,
Kendra and Karen Rogers, Susan and Connie Lynn Perry.  The Cherokee Church
of Christ held a reception/dessert buffet to honor the graduating Seniors.
Each senior was presented a Bible.  The Cherokee High School Athletic
Banquet was held last Thursday evening at the Cherokee Home for Children
Pavilion.  Many attended to support and honor our athletes.

Wayland, Kandis and Kaci Dobbs took Vanessa Whitt (daughter of Marvin and
Josie Whitt) to Dallas to board an airplane to the Philippines.  That is
where Vanessa's family lives but she will be doing mission work while there.

Joel, Betty, Garrett, and Erin Ratliff were in Arlington, TX   May 10 to
participate in Six Flags Over Texas honoring all Home Schooled children.
They had a fantastic time, and met up with fellow home schooled families
from The Bend and Cherokee.  Returning home they visited the Creation
Evidence Museum and the Dinosaur Museum in Glen Rose.

Regina Forehand and Jason Randolph were united in marriage last Thursday in
Michael and Lynda Randolph's yard.  Jody Simmons performed the ceremony.
Erin , daughter of Joel and Betty Ratliff, celebrated her 8th birthday with
family and friends at the home of her Gran and Papa Ratliff in Llano.  There
was a large crowd at Barefoot Park last Saturday night for Jackie Brister's
birthday party.  The food and music was wonderful.

Tommy, Kaci, Talli and Tori Morrison ran the Ice Cream Station for Janiece
last week while Janiece and Danny were in Ohio visiting the new grandson.
Kaci also kept Payton Duggan, Ryan and Laci Duggan's daughter last week.
Doug and Cyndi Suggs spent last Tuesday evening in Fredericksburg with
Jeremy Suggs.  It was his birthday.  If you like Italian food Pasta Bella is
a good place to go.  Kevin Randolph of San Antonio visited Richard and Jerry
Randolph Friday.  Kevin and family will be moving to Comanche this month.
Jennifer and Deacon Henderson spent a few days with Deacon's grandmother,
Candace Henderson.

EJ Borchers now has a bright pink cast on his arm.  He broke his thumb but
the cast goes all the way up his arm.

Until next week, that's the news from Cherokee, Texas!
