Hey Chazak!!!!
I know it's been a while since the parade, but I just wanted to thank
everyone who showed up. It was a fantastic representation of METNY and
I had a fantastic time!!
OK. So it's time for some Israel updates.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Benjamin Natanyahu made a ground-breaking
speech in front of the Israeli Parliament. For the first time, he
announced his support of the two-state solution, even though his own
political party and the government he runs is not entirely backing him
up. He firmly stands by the fact that in order for there to be a
peaceful relationship between an Israeli State and a Palestinian
State, Arab countries must recognize both. He also calls for a
demilitarized Palestinian State and an untouched Jerusalem remaining
in Israeli power. He is willing to work with Palestinians economically
and politically, as well as completely halt settlement growth in Gaza,
however, in return, the Palestinians must halt the rocket attacks that
Tel-Aviv and many other Israeli cities have endured.

But wait! There's more!
This Sunday, June 21st from 11 AM to 6 PM, Israelis from all over New
York are gathering in Central Park to celebrate Tel-Aviv's 100th
birthday!
Located in Central Park, this awesome event (titled "Tel-Aviv Beach in
Central Park") includes free entrance, beach games, backgammon, and
matkot (Israeli beach paddle ball). There will also be special
appearances in the concert (which begins at noon) from DJ Hadar Marks
and the Israeli reggae band Hatikvah Shesh.

I'll be there with my family, and if you like the Israeli crowd as
much as I do, I hope to see you there!
If not, have a wonderful summer, and remember to stand strong by
Israel no matter where you are this vacation!
See you at Encampment 2009!!!
Yours Always,
