Being in England, there's not much help I can offer. There's only one
marathon here that canicrossers can enter. It's cross-country event
that was started as a charity marathon for humans. A few years later
the organisers agreed that dogs could run too.
Maybe the solution for you would be to start a canicross club in your
area and then start organising your own races. It's rubbish to suggest
a marathon is too much for a dog. My two little short-legged terriers
and I used until recently to do a 30-mile run every Sunday. As long
as they are fit and used to hard exercise, distance is no problem for
a dog. The only exception is hot weather. Dogs cannot cope with heat.
