The First Ever Mini Maker Faire Danbury will be happening on June 8th & 9th. CT Hackerspace plans on having an all weekend presence at the event with tables, displays and hopefully some mini workshops.

Saturday, June 8, 2013 8:00 AM
To Sunday, June 9, 2013, 6:00 PM

City Center Danbury Green
National Place, Danbury, CT

A Callout to The CT Hackerspace Community!

We are looking for volunteers to help cover the booth & displays and / or possibly run a simple workshop. This is a great promotional and marketing opportunity to let DIY community meet and greet us. I'm asking everyone associated with the CTH community to please to lend a hand in some way (large or small) to make this a successful and fun event. Every little bit helps

We will be creating a coverage schedule as well as a forum for your input and workshop ideas to help make this a great and fun weekend.

Please help CT Hackerspace grow and and help dominate this made-for-us type event in front of thousands of possible new members and patrons.

Feel free to add your availability to the shared document or just comment in this thread and I will add you.

Best Regards,

Bill

I went to the pledge page but I could not add my name. Am I missing something obvious or do I need to log in?
Thank you for taking the time to put things together and I look forward to being there.

Where is the shared document. For whatever reason, I don't see a link in any of the emails in my inbox.

Thanks,
Jeff

With the Danbury Mini-maker faire approaching quickly, I have settled on my "workshop" plans for the faire.  I will be doing a make your own Tablet (any capacitive touch screen really) stylus workshop. I expect to be able to do it more as a stop by and make one than a scheduled workshop. I think that this format is better for the maker faire. I also think that kids will be able to do it on their own and will be interested. It is also a cool take away item. I expect to ask $5 to cover materials and provide some revenue for the space.

I plan to schedule a mini-workshop at the space following on after the maker faire if it goes well at the maker faire. This will be nice for people that like the idea but do not have the time to stop and make one for themselves.

I have materials on order but if anyone has any metal tubing about the diameter of a pencil that they are willing to contribute, it will be appreciated.

Also if anyone has any feedback on the idea, don't hesitate to send it my way good, bad or indifferent, I will appreciate any input.

Thanks,
Jeff

I think that sounds like a great idea. I don't have any tubing, but let me know if there is Anthony else I can do to help.

My name is now on the list. I am scheduled to be "At CTH Booth" but can easily be where a little more help is needed.

Thanks to all that are making this possible.
