Dear CT Hackers,
So, I have started to make a form for member profiles. The profiles will reside on paper in a notebook in the hackerspace for the time being. The idea is that it will help people get to know who else is there, what they are working on, what they can help with, and what they would like help with. This is to be voluntary but I think useful. At some point I would like it to be in some sort of CTH wiki (on a local server at least and not available to the public) but that is a project for another time. I am also working on (very little work so far) a Committee Profile sheet so people can see what is going on and what needs to be done.
Below is as far as I have gotten.
Member Profile.
Name / Handle: (one line for name)
Date Joined: (a space for a date)
Membership Notes
Committees (lots of lines for a list of committees)
Board Member / Position: (one line maybe with time served dates)
Contact: (several lines for various was to get in touch including email, phone, address, gps locator, "just see me at the space")
Overall goal joining: (a short blurb about what the person is interested in and why they are there)
Personal Projects: (projects the person is activly working on)
Willing to help with: (things they might help with like programming, machining, teaching, watching over shoulder while giving helpful advice)
Would like help with: (similar to "Willing to help with" but more like "I would like some one to give helpful advice while watching over my shoulder")
Resources Available: ( a list of things the member has they might be willing to share in some way with other members with a good cause, 3D printers, raw materials, large vehicles, private jet, and private tropical island with large cutting laser powered by volcano, etc.)
Again this would be voluntary and any or all of the sheet could be filled out. I am also thinking profiles for projects and committees would be useful. One thing at a time though. Name tags might also be useful so a new member can hunt down those with the skills/resources they seek.
I think non members could be encouraged to fill out forms if they seem like they would like to help or have resources that could be useful to the space.
Does anyone have suggestion, comments, helpful advice.
