I am looking for a new Excel Engine to be integrated with our product
line. I had evaluated Syncfusion and XLSGEN but there are some
performance, functionality hiccups. The client application is written
in C and I want to read all versions of BIFF, more significantly new
BIFF12(xlsx, xlsb, xlsm) format. I have seen some API's of CSVReader.
I didnt find the way to read formula type cells.
Is there any calculation engine embeded in? If not then is there any
support to read the linked XLS files?

The excel reader classes just use the last known value of a formula
cell instead of recalculating the actual value. If I understand what
you mean by linked xls files, cells that reference other documents,
the same holds true that it just uses the last known value that's
saved off along with the cell. They also don't currently support xlsb,
xlsm, and some other format options like encrypted files, etc.
