Dear all

Please find attached our notes from the CSA Network meeting last week, 2 May where we looked at the shape that a national network could take.

The discussion was informed by the many consultation events that have taken place over the past year and took us a very significant step closer to setting up an independent network.

At our CSA, Caerhys Organic Community Agriculture <[link]>[link] we’re desperately needing some volunteer labour/wwoofers
until June!

We have a self-catering static caravan on the farm, free veg and £15 per
week food expenses in return for 30 hours work sowing and planting

Hi Everyone

I have been involved in European exchanges to support CSA in countries where there has been little CSA until now. The Greeks wrote the report below. I found it very interesting so here it is to share. (Scroll down). Whilst some in the UK are worrying about farmers markets and CSAs being the preserve of the well off, in Greece DIY economic food systems and direct marketing are emerging as low cost solutions to economic crisis.

Urgenci works on international CSA issues:[link] Urgenci is keen on grassroots connections and individual CSAs can approach Urgenci and get involved. Judith at Urgenci works on international policy issues to support CSAs. She is looking for a handful of people with an interest in policy to help by bringing expertise or commenting on papers she will submit from Urgenci. 10 acres of agricultural land is available for sale in Four Marks,Hampshire
(£30-35,000 an acre). Might consider selling half and renting out the rest.
Might suit a CSA. Existing use (for the past 18 months) for pigs and
chickens. High farm gate - direct to public - sales of eggs and pig meat.
