Belt Loop Bonanza - Still time to register

The Belt Loop Bonanza is just around the corner -- the time to register is NOW! You can still receive the early bird discount if you register before 11/27/09!

Attached please find a flyer with the location and classes being offered as well as a link to the registration page. This is a fun event for all Cub Scouts where they can earn 3 belt loops in 3 hours!

Celebrate Scouting stamp unveiled

The US Post Office unveiled the design of a new stamp celebrating Scouting, to be released at the National Jamboree. The release also outlines a program to write letters to our troops.

I just learned of this service from our drug-free workplace facilitator. No cost, no sharing of your info, just a monthly e-mail with tips for parents and people who work with 11-13 year olds. Please feel free to pass this on.

2010 Scouting Stamp

Great news!
The United States Postal Service has just announced
that a Celebrate Scouting stamp will be issued in 2010. The unveiling
ceremony, where they reveal the design, is scheduled for November 12,
2009 at 10:00am in the Smithsonian National Postal Museum, Washington
DC.
I'll forward any more news as it becomes available.

Buckeye District Roundtable is THIS Thursday!

What is Roundtable?

Roundtable is a gathering of Scout leaders and parents the first
Thursday of each month at the Church of Christ on Fishinger and Kenny
Rd in Upper Arlington. We have a short meeting with announcements
about upcoming events in the Buckeye District, leader recognitions,
and door prizes. Then we split up into roundtable discussion

Looking for Boy Scouts to volunteer

Thought this might be something Boy Scouts might be interested in helping out with, especially if they are working on the disability awareness merit badge. The Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence is looking for volunteers to help with miscellaneous duties such as passing out programs, manning kid's zone, directing people, and using a clicker to keep track of people entering the exhibit hall. The Ohio Resource Center for Autism and Low-incidence Disabilities) is hosting an Expo on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Some entertainment includes the Columbus Zoo mascot, COSI's mascot, the Ohio State School for the Blind's marching band, and hopefully Brutus Buckeye. Below is a description of what is taking place. Management Merit Badge a few weeks ago.
I believe there may have been a miscommunication about Requirement #5.

The Scout Shop has dropped the price on the Den Meeting in a Box
supplies. They are now $9.88 for enough supplies for 10 boys. All are
based on the themes from last year. They won't last long at this price!
