In October 2009, Simon Kenton Council will hold a food drive, Scouting For Food, in honor of the 100th Anniversary of Scouting. Scouts will distribute bags to homes in their neighborhood and will return one week later to collect the filled bags of food to drop off at a nearby collection site. We are all aware it is getting to be harder and harder for many families to find enough money to feed everyone. This is an opportunity for our Scouts to help their community and most of the logistical planning is already done. We want EVERY unit in Buckeye District to participate. Units need to start planning now to make their effort as easy as possible.
Attached is the Scouting For Food flyer and commitment card, updated to reflect that Gary Kiefer has agreed to be our SFF District Chair (thanks, Gary!!).
