Dear Scouters,
On April 23rd 2009 the Executive Board of the Simon Kenton Council,
authorized changes to the boundaries of several districts. Soon,
initial organizing meetings will be held for the two new districts. All
units in these districts are encouraged to send at least one
representative. Additionally former members of district committees and
commissioners that now find themselves located within these districts
are also invited. (Individual letters are also being sent to the
Committee Chair, Chartered Organization Representative and Unit Leader
as well as identified district committee members and commissioners).
At this meeting, several key topics will be covered to help begin
building an exciting new district. It is important that we get started
NOW planning school nights, the popcorn sale, training and fall program
for our youth. Another task is to hold a contest to name the district!
Additionally, you will have an opportunity to learn about how a district
is structured and may have a chance to volunteer in areas that interest
you.
