Welcome to the Brooklyn Peace & Justice Network

This website will help coordinate the work of peace, justice, community, labor, clergy and lay organizations in Brooklyn as we work to end the war in Iraq, prevent a new war in Iran and fight for economic justice and against racism. United, we can build a network of Brooklyn people and organizations that can improve and strengthen our work on common issues of peace and justice in our hometown communities of Brooklyn, USA.

OUR HISTORY: This website had its birth in the days leading up to the October 27, 2007 NYC march against the war. On Wednesday, October 3, 2007, some 25 Brooklynites came together at Brooklyn's Central Library to plan a joint approach to building the largest possible turnout for that demonstration. Take a look at some of our earlier activities. CLICK HERE.

March 19th is the 5th anniversary of the Shock and Awe - The beginning of the terrible war against, and occupation of, Iraq.

Activities in Brooklyn and throughout the city and country are being planned.

Please sponsor and help build a protest that says loudly and clearly, in this election year, FIVE YEARS TOO MANY.

Brooklyn For Peace, along with its partners, is sponsoring several actions during the week of the fifth anniversary.

FLYERS ARE AVAILABLE  that can be used to advertise and educate.

Please download and print and have your organization mobilize for these events.

 • Wednesday, March 19, 12 noon Protest at War-Hawk Vito Fossella's Office.

The entire Brooklyn Congressional delegation has been voting against further funding for Bush's war. The lone vote in favor of war and more war? That of Vito Fossella. This, despite the fact that his constituents, like most Americans are overwhelmingly opposed to the war and want all troops returned right away. They suffer the same economic hardships due to outrageous sums being spent on the Iraq War and the Pentagons' budget while problems of jobs, health care, affordable housing and schools are ignored.

Join Bay Ridge Peace Action , Brooklyn For Peace, Bay Ridge Interfaith Coalition and others in this spirited protest against Five Years of War.

AT FOSSELLA'S BAY RIDGE OFFICE: 85TH STREET AND 4TH AVENUE, BROOKLYN. More info at: bklynpeaceaction@yahoo.com.
