Chase away the chill of January in New England with the summer heat and
samba beat of CARNAVAL in Rio. For this event, the acts of three
authentically Brazilian performing groups will be woven together for
the evening's entertainment. Join in the samba with Samba Tremeterra,
an 18 member Brazilian drumming and dance group. Sit back and watch
Capoeira Camará demonstrating this national folkloric dance/martial
art form. And enjoy the Teresa Inês Jazz Quintet, sponsored by
Sovereign Bank, playing jazz with an "authentically sensual Brazilian
style" ( World Rhythm ).

The drummers, the singers, the sequined costumed dancers, all will
celebrate the indomitable spirit of Brazilian culture on Saturday,
January 29 at Memorial Hall, 83 Court Street (Rte. 3A) in downtown
