Subject: We The People on Blogging?

NDTV contacted me saying Barkha Dutt is doing the coming weekend's WTP on
blogging and they wanted to interview me for that. Surprisingly, they are
sending a correspondent to tiny little state college to talk to me about the
ancient IIPM issue.

Any reason why blogging is in focus all of a sudden? Did something happen or
is it presumably just a content filler? And are any of you gonna be on that
show?

I am just curious because I dont know what angle they are gonna pitch.....
that blogging should be regulated and all?

I just hope they don't ask you to define blogging.

I'm assuming eM's (Compulsive Confessor) forthcoming book might be the
reason for this renewed interest. But then it can be a mere filler too.

Like Patrix said the 'Compulsive Confessor' news which appeared in
Telegraph...or the recent (can we still call it recent, though) boom in
Indian blogging platforms which come along with social networking platforms
- www.ibibo.com, www.bigadda.com etc.

cheers

hi

Could you folks please take this to your private mailing lists? Please use
this list only for the purpose for which it was formed: discussing free
speech violations and censorship.

Thanks

peter

Talking about free speech violations and censorship, what about this bit of
news?

Can someone please find out the list of nine blogs that the report talks
about? Also, out of the four blogs mentioned, two (naxal revolution, lal
salaam) are mirrors of each other, as anybody who is keeping a watch on them
will know. http://reddiary.blogspot.com/ (Red Diary) is a blog that talks
about an 80s porn movie in its tagline. http://reddiarypk.wordpress.com/ is
the blog of a pakistani youth and nowhere related to Indian maoists.

Maoists trying to recruit youth using the internet
 Gyan Varma

"security agencies have found out that the guerrillas are recruiting
youngsters through the internet. Security agencies have identified nine such
blogs frequently visited by youngsters."

"Some of the websites and blogs that have come under the scanner are naxal
revolution, peoples march, red diary and lal salaam.world press."
