Before we get on to the latest news, I have to ask a favor.  If you haven’t done so yet, please visit our group page and become a registered member of the Bike Fort Collins listserv.  Here is the link.  Thank you!

And now the news…..

Check out today’s editorial comment in the Fort Collins Coloradoan by Dr. Tim Anderson, Director of the Fort Collins Velodrome Association.  If that interests you, and you want to know more about sharing the road and the 2 abreast stir, come to the Community Bike Forum at the Bean Cycle next Monday, June 23, 6:00PM for more comments and info.

Bike Fort Collins is calling out for artists!  We’re looking to hire an artist to design and paint a mural on the inside wall of the Café Bicyclette in Old Town Square.  This will be a “cycling centric” mural depicting bicycling in Fort Collins.  Please contact Jeff Morrell for more info and if you’re interested in submitting a proposal.  Feel free to pass this along to your artistically gifted friends.

The great folks at the Fort Collins Cycling Festival, are asking for 20 able-bodies volunteers to help with the Rist Ride/Dash for the Cache and the ACA State Championships that are happening this weekend.  This is a great opportunity to see some exciting racing and help out a great organization at the same time.  Be sure to check out Fort Collins Cycling Festival for more details and volunteer sign-up.

~Coexist Campaign - Motorist and bicyclist education is an important aspect in creating a bicycle friendly community. The "Coexist" Campaign was designed to address six of the most important educational messages for bicyclists and motorists. The educational messages were identified through national and local sources. The "Coexist" campaign's objectives include educating bicyclists on how to ride respectfully in an urban setting, educating motorists on how to drive cautiously, while stressing to both motorist and bicyclist the importance of mutual awareness, patience, and courtesy.  Click here for campaign background and to see all six Coexist images.
