In a gruesome murder, a 16-year-old girl was chopped into pieces and her
flesh stripped off and dumped at a local market where meat was sold, a
Hong Kong newspaper says.
Police have charged a 24-year-old man with the murder of Wong Ka-mui,
16, who was missing since last month, Hong Kong newspaper The Standard
reported.
According to the paper, Wong had been taking drugs with the man -
transport worker Ting Kai-tai - at his apartment in Kowloon when she
told him she wanted to die.
Police said Ting then chopped off Wong's head and limbs and stripped off
her flesh, some of which he flushed down the toilet, The Standard said.
The rest of the flesh was dumped at Shek Kip Mei market, which contains
a number of butchers shops.
According to Hong Kong paper The Sun, the flesh was placed among meat
that had been discarded by butchers. However, this meat was sometimes
collected to be turned into cooking fats and oils, the paper said.
After dumping Wong's flesh at the market, Ting then allegedly weighed
down Wong's head and limbs with bricks and threw them off Kowloon City
Pier into the bay, The Standard said.
According to The Standard, Wong arrived at Ting's apartment after he
hired a prostitute over the internet.
Wong's sister and mother doubted she was dead, and did not believe she
had become a prostitute, the paper said.
Ting has been charged with the murder and has faced court, but the case
has been adjourned, the paper said.
