*Israeli warplanes target Hamas in fresh strikes*

Israeli warplanes attacked a guardpost at the Gaza home of Palestinian
prime minister Ismail Haniya overnight as they targeted suspected Hamas
militants for another night, witnesses said Saturday.

The Israeli military confirmed two strikes, one targeting the security
post at Haniya's residence in the Shati refugee camp and the second a
workshop at Jabaliya in the northern Gaza Strip.

Medical sources said five people were wounded in an earlier air strike
on security forces at Haniya's home but there were no reports of
injuries in the latest attack.

Two militants were killed earlier Friday as Israeli warplanes pounded
the Gaza Strip for a ninth day and Palestinian rocket fire continued to
strike Israel despite a call from Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas for
a truce.

Two members of the military wing of Hamas were killed in a missile
strike on their vehicle in an eastern sector of Gaza City, medical
sources said. A third militant showed no sign of brain activity but had
not been pronounced dead.

The Israeli army would only confirm "an aerial attack against a vehicle
transporting terrorists in Shujaiya district."

Israeli aircraft also fired rockets at a post used by the Executive
Force paramilitary loyal to Hamas, wounding one bystander, witnesses
said. The Israeli military confirmed the attack but gave no details on
casualties.

The Executive Force has evacuated its buildings and positions in the
Gaza Strip following Israeli threats to step up air strikes against
targets linked to Islamist militant group Hamas.

Air raids have killed 13 Palestinian civilians and 27 militants since
May 16.

But they have failed to halt the rocket bombardment, with more than 130
slamming into Israel over the past week and a half, killing a woman and
wounding 16 other people.

Israeli raids have targeted Hamas and its smaller rival Islamic Jihad,
which have claimed responsibility for most of the rocket attacks on
Israeli territory.
