Mother's two girls are found hanged*

UK - A mother whose two daughters killed themselves in the space of two
months spoke yesterday of her despair at losing "my best friends and my
whole world".
The body of Anna Borau, 21, was found at a flat in Crawley, Surrey, on
Jan 11, nine weeks after her sister Isabel, 17, was discovered dead at
her home on Nov 10.
Both women had hanged themselves, leaving their mother, Kate, and her
other three children at a loss to understand why they took their lives.
Mrs Borau, whose husband, Peter, drowned himself in the Thames two years
ago, said she was in a permanent state of shock.
"I cannot describe the turmoil I feel," she said. "My heart is broken
but I also feel numb. To bury one child hurts more than you can ever
imagine but to bury a second so soon afterwards is a hundred times more
painful.
"To lose two beautiful, young, intelligent women, my best friends, my
whole world, is like losing my limbs. My world has caved in."
Isabel, known as Izzy, was found dead at her flat in Sutton shortly
after receiving a B grade in a GCSE English examination.
After her death, Anna, who wanted to become a model, moved back to
Sutton to help her family cope.
Earlier this month, she said she was going out for dinner but never
returned. A suicide note found next to her body said: "I love you, carry
on and be strong."
The poem she wrote and read at her sister's funeral will be read again
today when her body is buried at Chiltern Church in Sutton.
Mrs Borau said she had not realised that her daughter was so depressed.
"Anna was my rock," she said. "She was so strong for all of us. We would
all go to the cemetery together every other day and see Izzy. I had no
idea she was so depressed.
"You don't think things can get any worse and then this happens. My only
comfort in all of this is that I know her and Izzy are together."
