AUSTRALIA - VANDALS have used sheep's blood to scrawl anti-religious
writings on a New South Wales church, police said today.

A slaughtered sheep was found inside the Bagdad Anglican Church near
Temora, north of Wagga Wagga, in southern NSW.

Police said the incident was reported on September 5, but it was
possible it could have happened as early as June 5 because the church
was no longer used.

The vandals forced entry through the front door and stole the church
altar, a lectern, table and pew.

The blood from the slaughtered sheep was used to daub anti-religious
writings on the inside of the church walls, police said.

A crime scene was established and police are awaiting the results of
those tests.
