Bizarre Weather brings hail and thunder to UK on top of flooding*

The bizarre weather took another twist yesterday when south London was
hit by hail as Yorkshire continued to battle flooding.

The hail, in Allardyce Street, Brixton, was also in stark contrast to
summer sunshine in Cornwall.
Forecasters say such storms are more common in the summer than winter,
but its ferocity still caught some by surprise. The weather is being
explained by low pressure which won't shift.
"There may be nice days over the next few weeks, but we can't promise
anything definite," the Met Office said.
