A 5.1-magnitude earthquake shook the southeastern Iranian city of Bam today.
There were no immediate reports of casualties, the official IRNA news
agency said.
IRNA said the quake occurred about 10am (4.30pm AEST).
In 2003, Bam was hit by a major earthquake that killed 31,000 people.
Iran is one of the most earthquake-prone countries in the world because
it is criss-crossed by several major faultlines.
