Quake measuring 6.0 shakes Mexico*

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - An earthquake measuring 6.0 shook portions of
Mexico early on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The tremor was felt in Mexico City, sending people fleeing their homes
for the streets, a Reuters correspondent said.

Mexican emergency services said there were no immediate reports of
injuries or serious damage.

The quake hit at 12:42 local time (6:42 a.m. British time) and was
centred in the coastal state of Guerrero, Mexico, the U.S. agency said.
It lasted three or four seconds.

The USGS initially reported the quake, centred 65 km (40 miles)
north-northwest of the resort city of Acapulco, measured 6.2 but later
revised the magnitude to 6.0
