DOZENS of students have alleged they were sexually abused by staff at a
prestigious Catholic high school in regional New South Wales, with
charges expected to be laid, according to media reports.
The allegations are linked to St Stanislaus' College at Bathurst in
central western NSW, the Seven Network reported tonight.
It said police had received complaints from "around 40 children''
alleging they were "victims of sexual assault''.
"Police have launched a major investigation with charges expected to be
laid soon,'' Seven said.
Macquarie Radio reported some of the abuse claims date back two decades.
NSW Police have been contacted about the investigation, but as yet have
not confirmed their involvement.
A spokesman said police would not be making any comment on the matter today.
A prestigious day and boarding school for boys, St Stanislaus' College
was founded in 1867.
