A LIGHTNING storm has sparked more than 30 fires in South Australia's
mid-north.

The Country Fire Service (CFS) said it had received reports of fires
around Burra, Jamestown, Hallet, Mt Bryan, Spalding and Razorback Mountain.

They were caused by lightning strikes about 10.30am (CST) today.

The CFS said a brief rain shower had provided some relief but about 120
firefighters and 25 units were still working to bring the fires under
control.

No homes or properties were under threat at this stage, a spokeswoman said.
