A MAGNITUDE 6.2 earthquake struck deep below the Pacific Ocean today,
off the islands of Vanuatu, the US Geological Survey said.

The quake, which hit at 4.16am AEDT, was centred 265km north of the
northern Santo island at a depth of 190km.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
