Forecasters say Wild Fire danger heating up in Washington State*

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

SEATTLE -- The National Weather Service says hot, sunny weather is
increasing the fire danger across Washington.

Forecasters say areas of dried grass and pine needles are especially
vulnerable to sparks from fireworks this Fourth of July.

A high pressure system will push temperatures into the 80s Wednesday and
Thursday in Western Washington. Highs in Eastern Washington will be in
the 90s through Thursday with highs around 100 in the lower Columbia Basin.

Forecaster also say rainfall was about 25 percent below normal the past
three months, so plants are drier than they normally would be in early
July.
