THE severed heads of five kangaroos have been found on a beach at
Deception Bay, north of Brisbane.
A resident walking with her two children made the grisly find near a
boat ramp on the weekend.
"My first thought was 'Oh my God, how could someone do this, especially
to our wildlife?'," Angie Rando said.
"It was terrible to think someone could do this sort of thing."
Ms Rando, who took photos of the heads, said their bodies were nowhere
to be found. We can only assume how these poor animals were murdered,"
she said.
Ms Rando said she was disgusted the remains were left in a public area.
"It wasn't a good sight for them (the children) to see," Ms Rando said.
"My daughter, she's five, she became quite hysterical - all she wanted
me to do was ring the ambulance."
RSCPA spokesman Michael Beatty said the heads, which were removed by
local authorities, might have been used in Satanic rituals or as fish bait.
"We've seen kangaroos that have been shot with arrows and had all sorts
of other unpleasant things happen to them by Satanists and sadists but
we've never actually come across five like this," Mr Beatty said.
"We'd just like some information to find who did this."
