10 dead in Turkey floods*
Floods in eastern Turkey killed 10 people including six children aged
between 18 months and 12, officials and media said Monday.
The bodies of a mother and her two-year-old son were recovered in the
province of Van, while another boy, aged one and a half, was found dead
in neighbouring Agri after torrential rain Sunday, reports said.
Four other victims were children, aged between three and 12, Anatolia
news agency reported.
All the other dead were in Agri, in far-east Turkey near the border with
Iran, where flooding caused by torrential rains Sunday afternoon hit
seven villages, the emergency management department said.
Two people reported missing were found alive, it said.
The Red Crescent was setting up tents and shelter in the affected zone.
In November, flooding in southeastern Turkey killed 46 people.
