2 Killed, Hostage Taken in Kentucky*

MUSES MILL, Ky. (AP) - A man shot and killed two people, wounded another
and then fled with a hostage Friday night, police said.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Ralph Lockard said the injured person was
being treated for what was believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot
wound.

The gunman and the hostage moved into nearby woods or somewhere else
close by, Lockard said. No arrests had been made by late Friday.

Police were using a SWAT team, dogs and helicopters to search for the
gunman.

``We consider him armed and dangerous,'' Lockard said. ``The witnesses
verified that he has a rifle.''

The shooting occurred about 45 miles northeast of Lexington.
