AUSTRALIA - A MALE witch who turned teenage girls into sex slaves has
won a Victorian court battle to be allowed to live in the community.
Robin Angus Fletcher, 49, finished a 10-year year jail term in June, but
has been living in Ararat jail under an extended supervision order.
Fletcher used hypnotism and mind-altering techniques to entice two
15-year-old girls into prostitution, sadomasochism and black magic.
He was jailed after pleading guilty to prostituting a child, sexual
penetration, and indecent acts against a child aged under 16.
Fletcher has only been allowed outside the jail under the supervision of
a corrections officer.
At an earlier hearing in the Victorian Supreme Court, Fletcher's lawyers
argued that housing him behind prison walls breached the Serious Sex
Offenders Monitoring Act.
Justice Bill Gillard today ruled the Adult Parole Board was acting
unlawfully by keeping Fletcher in the prison after he had completed his
jail term.
Justice Gillard said the terms of the Act required Fletcher to live
within the community.
