MOSCOW, Feb 17 (Reuters) - Two cases of bird flu in Russia have been
confirmed as being the deadly H5N1 strain, Russia's animal and plant
health watchdog said on Saturday.
"It was confirmed as H5N1," said Alexei Alexeyenko, press secretary for
Rosselkhoznadzor.
The positive tests refer to the first two cases found on Friday night.
"Tomorrow we will do more tests and be able to determine how dangerous
the virus is," Alexeyenko said.
