Speaker: Richard Stallman, Free Software Foundation
Sponsor: Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS)
Richard Stallman wrote the first GNU General Public License in 1989, and
version 3 which was completed in 2007. He will discuss the philosophy of
the GNU GPL, the changes made in version 3, and the reasons for those
changes.
Target audiences: Faculty, Students - Graduate, Students - Undergraduate
Open to audience: All Audiences
Attendance restrictions: This talk is a class meeting of CS 194/11 and
194/12, Social Implications of Computers, and 24 seats will be reserved
for students enrolled in that class.
