We discovered that the venerable Dave Briggs has already solved the
Google for Govnt problem, I would be hard pressed to find a reason not
to use this:
http://lgsearch.net/
Boy Wonder (19, owns a milk float) OKA James Darling, has written the
perfect government front for Twitter/social media here it is and it
can feed anything:
http://communitysafe.gov.uk
Sad news, Boy Wonder is about to leave us to join the music industry
(rock on) but I am sure we will be able to pick his brains when
necessary :) Good luck, James.
Great news, we solved a few Twitter problems, agreed on this magazine
idea, at least to scope it further... and I got my lappy (not Mac)
geeked - am v happy.
Later in the evening I went to Steve Moore's Seriously Social evening.
Out of this I got:
1. An hour with Ollie Barratt, without realising who he was - he has
suggested that we tie BarCamp in with the awards he is organising for
Number Ten. I have B/fast and lunch next week with him - et al - to
talk further, will keep you posted
2. We need to have techlightenment involved
www.techlightenment.com
they are doing some great stuff on measuring and managing Social Meja.
I suggest they come along one coffee time and present their (v short)
PowerPoint about what they are doing - I think it is what we are
missing
3. You all need to read Davoid Jennings Book: Net, blogs and
Rock'n'Roll - mainly because when you meet him (as you all will) you
will be able to tell him that you read it, and then you can talk about
the day he met Douglas Copeland 'til you need a cigarette
4. Very exciting news from DCMS (Dept Culture, Meja and Sport) Mark
O'Neill (the CIO) was at Steve's do and we sloped off for a bit of a
chat... he has a very exciting project coming up that will challenge
the BarCampers so watch this space. He has also agreed to host the
wiki on the civil servants in govnt who know their stuff, like Mr
Gould - who was missed at the event tonight, I left to cries of:
'Where is Jeremy Gould?' - his fame does us proud -
wikiguvhonestbruv.com
That is it for tonight - oh and I left my phone at the RSA so don't
call me:)
