Hi all,

You are cordially invited to participate in the scientific conference
"Understanding Aging: Biomedical and Bioengineering Approaches," which
will be held from June 27-29, 2008 at UCLA. The conference includes a
free symposium for the general public on June 27th focused on public
policy implications of successfully postponing aging. The scientific
conference, on June 28th and 29th, will be focused on the science and
technology of aging and its postponement.

Over 20 illustrious speakers are already confirmed. The provisional
schedule for the conference and online registration are online.

Thanks. I have some clarification to share. The event on Friday
evening June 27th is for the general public and free. As the site
says:

"""
Applying the new technologies of regenerative and genetic medicine,
the engineering approach to aging promises to dramatically extend
healthy human life within the next few decades.

How do you and your loved ones stand to benefit from the coming
biomedical revolution? Are you prepared? Is society prepared?
"""

Afterwards there is an optional, non-free dinner with the speakers.
Details are at http://www.mfoundation.org/ADCI/

Then Sunday and Saturday is the scientific conference described at
http://www.mfoundation.org/UABBA/

Finally, we are looking for more volunteers to help us promote,
organize and assist either or both events. I'm one of the volunteers.
If you're interested in helping out, please contact me off list.

Hey guys, so if anyone's interestd, I'm going (along with a couple friends)
on Fri night to the free symposium part, open to the general public.

It's on the UCLA campus, at Royce Hall, starts at 4pm and runs until 8pm;
then it's the dinner that's $30 to attend (which I am doing also).

There's an actual conference this weekend, but that's more for the hardcore
and runs into the few hundreds of dollars, so the Friday even is the one you
want to attend if you're just interested and want to hear what's going on.

And yes, this event ties in well with the LA Futurists, so it just might get
me to kick-start the meetings again! So come, show up, show your interest
and let's have some interesting conversations! The link for the Friday
event is:

http://www.mfoundation.org/ADCI/index.html

Just make sure to register there so they have your name; the $30 is only if
you want dinner afterwards at 8pm with the speakers (which should be cool;
Aubrey de Grey is a regular at TED btw). Cheers!

Hell yeah Bino,

I've been looking forward to this for a while, and it's perfect timing - the science/tech segment at the July 17th Mindshare is going to be on "The War on Aging: Biological and Digital Visions"! (which will include our very own Chuck Esterbrook!) I didn't know about the dinner though, might just have to hit that up too :)

Later playaz,

El Fresco
