LA Friday Coffee at the Farmers Market

Friday November 21, 2008 from 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Los Angeles Farmers Market next to The Grove
6333 West Third Street
Los Angeles, California 90036
Category: Social

Since many people couldn't join us for coffee 2 weeks ago, this Friday we will re-visit the Farmer's Market on Fairfax.

This time we will meet in the East Patio, which is the end that is closest to The Grove shopping district.

We will be outdoors, so bring a sweater, just in case, If it gets too cold, there is a indoors area just upstairs from the Patio. It is very possible that The Grove's Christmas decorations will be done by then, too.

If you need help finding us, call 818-804-5049 on the night of the event.

LA Friday Coffee is a casual, ad hoc start to the weekend.

Come for coffee, conversation and more before heading home or out to dinner. We will be holding LA Friday Coffee at various places around town, so send in your recommendations for places to meet in your neighborhood.

Were we indoors last time, or out? I guess technically there is no roof over the sitting area, but mentally,  I'm thinking it's sort of indoors. Each # on this map is a door.  That's the area where the pizza and ice cream is, where your wife and I got chinese. When you say outdoors I think of where you walk outside so I wonder if people will find us.  The outdoors sitting area is by Coffee Bean and Tea Left, by the FM parking lot. There is not outside area to sit by the Grove part. It's a restaurant on one side and that lotion store on the other.

Image below.
The long red shape by the 15 is the ice cream.
15 is the door that when you go out, you pass the hand lotion shop and sur la table.

Parking in the Farmers Market parking lot is 2 hours free with validation from a Farmers Market vendor. I think the Grove is 2 hours free with validation from somewhere in the Grove. You just have to make sure you get the right validation for where you parked.

Yes, parking in the Farmers Market parking — the outside parking that
you enter from Fairfax, lot is 2 hours free with validation from a
Farmers Market vendor. The 3rd hour is $3.00. $1 for each additional
20 minutes. You can drive out, around and re-park and they may not
notice.

The Grove — the tower structure that you can drive thru to from
Fairfax or you enter from The Grove Drive — is 1 hour free, or 2 hours
with a Grove validation. I forget the rates after that. Spend $250 and
it's free, and so is the valet parking (weekends only, now, it appears).

Do NOT park by the Kmart. You will get a ticket.

Closest neighborhood parking is by permit. You'll walk about 3/4 mile.

For those who have gift cards, there is one Starbucks at the FM, and
one Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. The B&N so-called Starbucks does not take
the gift card and I was unimpressed with what I had there.

The Grove has a B&N, which may be an easy place to buy something for
your validation. Apple Store too. (I just have to say that.)
