Dear friend,
While Bhopal Gas Survivors continue to fight for justice, the company responsible for the disaster, DOW CHEMICALS, continues to evade its liabilities in Bhopal. The Govt instead of acting against DOW is doing all it can to facilitate Dow's investments in India. Dow is a notorious company, and is one of the most polluting chemical companies in the world. Yet, the Govt of Maharastra has given it permission to set up a plant in Ranjangaon near Pune, and now more terrible, Dow has been allowed to set up a research centre in Pune. Despite the fact that this centre was refused permission in USA and Europe!
The struggle to 'kick out Dow' is going on, which was started after last anniversary. We need continued efforts to throw out such companies, have stricter environment laws and their enforcement.
