Not taking this lying down, many of AvC's theists have raised money to
start posting their own bus ads. Those bus ads are starting circulation
today. See below:

A lot of you know about the atheist bus ads depicting the slogan, "There
is probably no God, now quit worrying and enjoy your life."

The physicist Victor Stenger has proposed this slogan for the next bus
ad, "Science flies you to the moon, religion flies you into
buildings."

Considering Stenger's fairly influential, this one might end up
becoming a reality. Although I still prefer, "Faith may not move
mountains, but you should see what it does to skyscrapers."
Several of them are paraphrases, for the record (but all are very
close). For example, checkers didn't say "yuk yuk yuk" after he said
one plus three didn't equal four, because he was serious, but I figure
for purposes of a bus add he probably wanted to add a signature.

campaign, pointing out that many useful things could be done in
Toronto with $21,000.
I'm glad the ads are coming, but perhaps if they become an ongoing
thing, they can use the "brand" to support secular volunteerism.

Could be, I'll have to think about that.
This thing is definitely spreading, and so is the controversy.
Apparently Kingston, Ontario will not run the ads.
