History Going By My House

OK. So I've been flat on my back all of Sunday. And I am not impressed
by media stunts. So it didn't occur to me that when they said the Good
Morning America media show was going to be in Stockbridge this
morning, they had to go through Lee to get there. And it never
occurred to me that they'd be stopping here. But they did - right
across the tracks from me at Joe's Diner. Incredible. Sick or not
sick, I ran a brush through my hair, got dressed and went out to see
it firsthand, even if it wasn't right up in the front row. AmTrak
NEVER goes by my house!!! Except today. They stopped just the other
side of the crossing. Helicopters everywhere - I guess there were
cameras and satellites in them. Huge, loud things. I thought they were
security at first. But it was all media - Diane Sawyer and those guys
- All that hype and it was noisemakers. Hmm... But I went out anyway -
it was history.

When Hillary was touring the country a while ago, promoting national
treasures, all the hoopla! She made a stop in Pittsfield because of
the Colonial Theater which was in early stages of restoration. What
isn't said is that she went by my house in her red, white and blue
bus, and all the accompanying vehicles. To get to the Mass Pike. I
happened to be looking out when she went by. Or rather, her bus. (I am
sure she was in it.)

The One I am waiting for is the Bridegroom. Now THAT'S when I want to
be ready! I want to be right in the front row for that one, my lantern
trimmed and filled, extra oil in a container in my bag. I WILL be
reading the newspaper to get that one right.
