I couldn't download the radio image from http://www.htc.com/www/support/android/adp.html
(redirecting me back to their web page...) so I grabbed it from a
mirror I found on this group. When I try to run the update, I get the
following error messages:

Installing from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:No signature (5 files)
E:Verification failed
Installation aborted.

I've tried grabing ota-radio-1_22_14_11.zip from 2 different mirrors
now, with the same result. I've copied it to update.zip on the
sdcard. The zip file contains the Cert.rsa and Cert.sf files, along
with radio.img, Manifest.mf, and update-script. Is there anything I'm
doing wrong?

Thanks!

Everything you're doing sounds right, unfortunately.

As for HTC's site, people have noticed that the downloads only work
with refer(r)er support in the browser, and even that's not a
guarantee.

Do your downloaded files have the proper md5sum?

I have the exact same problem. It complains that verification failed
for 5 files and aborts the installation. I verified my md5sum is
correct and the file is getting copied completely.

Sorry, hit send too quickly.

I also get this error:

E: Can't open /cache/recovery/command

And yes, I am using Dev1.

Thanks,

Has anyone got a solution?
I have the same issue.

I had the same problem. Turns out that downloading with Safari was the
problem as it auto unzipped the file (which I re-zipped). Downloading
with lynx solved it for me.

Ok, I was wrong. That only solved my problem with the radio image.
Getting the same issue with signed-dream_devphone-img-142608.zip

Can you compare the md5sum of your downloaded file with the one
published on the HTC web page?

Hi Wes,

I just had the same problems and found the reason: You (and I) used
signed-dream_devphone-img-142608.zip together with adb push. Instead,
we should have used signed-dream_devphone-ota-142608.zip (Same number,
but ota instead of img), because the img is intended to be used with
fastboot. The ota works fine for me.

Maybe you already found another solution, but I think it cannot be
wrong to point out the difference between img and ota because it's too
easy to get them wrong.

Yes, the current organization of the web page is confusing at the
moment. This is on our radar.
