Next Wednesday, Pino’s Corp will appear before the Licensing Board to request that its hours of operation be extended from 1:00 am to 3:00 am.

Does anyone know if any of the other nine (9) plus food establishments in this one block radius of Cleveland Circle are also open until 3:00 am?

Would Pino’s be setting a precedent if they are the first establishment to be allowed open until 3:00 am?  What are the consequences? Personally, I cannot think of any advantages for the neighborhood residents – only disadvantages.

I’ve noticed that on the 1300 block of Commonwealth Avenue, there is new Pizza shop ‘Natalie’s Pizza” that advertises in its window ‘Open Until 3:00 am’ – so is this 3:00 am closing time a new trend?

Given the propensity of BC students to conduct bloody late-night battles in Cleveland Circle I would have to vote "no" on this one. It also incourages intoxicated people to stay out on the street way too late--increasing the probablity of rape, assault, and other predation. The T's not even running then.

I used to live on Walbridge Street which is within a block of Natalie's Pizza (next to the Joshua Tree bar)--its not new. Noise and confusion although I don't recall any fights. What makes Natalie's 3 am closing inapropriate is that the single-story 1/4 block of business where Natalie's is located is surrounded with small 3 and 4 story residential apartment buildings.

Barbara

P.S. The only late-night that I can think of in Cleveland Circle is Rogies but I don't think that its until 3.
