Another of this morning's photos: [image: ?ui=2&view=att&th=125319e35831 799c&attid=0.1&disp=attd&reala ttid=ii_125319e35831799c&zw] Both parents were raised from seeds kindly supplied by Dr. Mark Dimmitt. This seedling has proved to be an excellent parent.

Crimson Concubine
This has a most startling contrast of colours, quite the best I have as yet seen. However, it is difficult to propagate, less than 50% of grafts take, but I still like it - possibly I may register it as 'Crimson Concubine', what do you think? [image: ?ui=2&view=att&th=12522f76f71f 3836&attid=0.1&disp=attd&reala ttid=ii_12522f76f71f3836&zw]... more »

Result of Pruning
I don't usually prune my Adeniums. However, some were getting very "leggy" so I cut some of them back to see what would happen. This 'Uranian' x 'Spindrift' was prunated about three months ago. [image: ?ui=2&view=att&th=12522e52f40e 672c&attid=0.1&disp=attd&reala ttid=ii_12522e52f40e672c&zw]

Star of Happiness x Star in Style
I took this photo a few minutes ago. The scarlet stripe is very prominent pity about the star shape, but the colour is exceptional: [image: ?ui=2&view=att&th=1251c263c140 dda7&attid=0.1&disp=attd&reala ttid=ii_1251c263c140dda7&zw] Here is a photo of the pod parent [image: ?ui=2&view=att&th=1251c283c66d 1e43&attid=0.1&disp=attd&reala ttid=ii_1251c283c66d1e43&zw]... more »

I have just noticed that they have taken our home page photo and given the cultivar a name. If you look carefully you will see the copyright symbol and Ashish's name... more »

Some New Seedlings
The first photo is not a new seedling but is a wonderful colour combination. The photo of *Oncidium ampliatum *is on a mango tree next to my adeniums which you can see in the background. This plant was rescued after a gale blew it from a saman tree. The last photo is quite the most orange coloured cultivar I have as yet... more »

A New Route to Velvety Reds
[image: ?ui=2&view=att&th=1250c9c41415 fad5&attid=0.1&disp=attd&reala ttid=ii_1250c9c41415fad5&zw] This seedling flowered for the first time this week. It looks very like a swazicum hybrid, but the flower is smaller and with a wonderful colour. Also it is has pollen; whether this is fertile will remain to be seen -I... more »

What constitutes a picotee?
The Royal Horticultural Society's Dictionary of Gardening defines a picotee as: "Picotee - applied to flowers with a thin band of contrasting colour at the edge of each petal". Note the word thin. Yasmin, most of your recent photos could in no way be called picotees, they are bi-colours. Here are... more »
