If you ordered a 1st through 9th ALHC Memorable Routines Disk - They
are in the mail. these disks have proved to be very popular. Those
disk have an added bonus with a couple of routines from the 2007
championships.

I'm still trying to get Oct. 23-28, 2008 at the hotel. It seems we
have a Bar Mitzvah boy scheduled on Saturday night who is reluctant to
change his date. So for all of you who have written be patient a while
longer.

Word is that Jim Jackson, Californian and President of the US
Rock'n'Roll Dance Federation is going to host the 2009 World Lindy Hop
Championships on the west caost. He's original tentative date for this
event was September or October of that year. I'e suggested - since the
calendar is already jam packed with events - that he do it instead in
January.  no much happening then. So his tentative new target date is
Janaury 2010. He;s thinking of hosting in either southern Cali or in
Vegas.

The American Showcase Division will be the qaulifier for the world
competition. My concern is that we don't have enough competitors to
fuel 2008 or 2009's world championship or the world games (an Olympic
style event) that will follow it in the summer of 2010. Although it's
nice to think we'll go there and kicj some 'A--' we, also, need to be
realistic. Although the American Showcase competition has been quite
good the numbr of competitors there have gone down. Even Open Showcase
is mostly dancers from other countries. So my thought is to eliminate
all of the A.S. regionals. Then truly interested dance couples can
enter ALHC directly. What do you think?
