On Monday night, April 30 a Boy Scout Graphic Arts merit badge workshop will be held in the Jasper Yeates House at 24 South Queen Street from 6 to 8:30pm. Let me know at kkula...@netzero.com if you are going to be able to help. Don’t forget we pay for your parking on the Central Garage.

Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology has offered us the use of a room in the building that presently houses their Graphic Communication’s labs. We will be relocating all the Yeates House functions to this new location and will already be holding two workshops in the new location in May. We owe a debit of gratitude to the Thaddeus Stevens College Administration and the Graphic Communications Department.
Meanwhile, the museum print shop is in the process of moving to the 300 block of North Queen Street. It will be known as Heritage Press Museum operated by the .918 Club. As part of his effort to make the 300 block the place to be in Lancaster, he has offered us the store front of his building to recreate our print shop. Sometime this fall we will be getting additional space for us to expand the print shop. You can read all about our new homes at: http://lancasteronline.com/article/local/635040_A-new-home-for-Lancaster-s-Heritage-Press-Museum.html.

Attached is the calendar for May with the date and times we need demonstrators in the print shop. Please let me know ASAP when you will be able to man the shop.

Please check the following schedule and try to help out whenever you have the time. We are working hard to get the museum and print shop back in operation and any help is appreciated.

Wednesday, April 25 – The .918 Club held a screening of “Linotype: The Film” to a crowd of close to two-hundred letterpress enthusiasts. After the film, Brandon Goodwin, the Director of Photography and editor of the film will held a Q&A forum. We also had a reception for Brandon in the Quilt & Textile Museum. Thanks to all those members who supported the club through your attendance.

Thursday, April 26 – Richard Rutledge, Mike Donnelly, Megan Zettlemoyer, Troy Patterson, Mike Stinnett, and Ken Kulakowsky conducted session #4 of the AIGA Letterpress Workshop.

Monday, April 30 – The first of three Boy Scout Graphic Arts merit badge workshops will be held in the Jasper Yeates House at 24 South Queen Street from 6 to 8:30pm.

Friday, May 4 – First Friday opening of the Heritage Press museum from 5 to 9pm at 346 North Queen Street in the Building Character complex.

Thanks for your help in keeping the craft alive.

Ken
