Is there a generally accepted place to mount the potbox in a 914?

Without the normal ICE and mounting points, there is an excess
of cable beyond the sleeve that I don't know what to do with.

I could see adding another length of sleeve to extend the first and
provide a collar stop for the potbox, or just cutting the cable shorter
and crimping a new post on the end.

Any solutions/pictures?

Thanks,
McB

I moved the EA suggested Potbox location on the firewall further to the driver's side to avoid a T fitting in the brake line, up against the heating duct.  I did trim a bit off the end of the pedal cable and just tightened down the setscrew onto the cable.

Hi Mark,

The EA instructions for mounting the potbox on the left side of the
firewall were not going to work out well but there was lots of room on
the right side, so that is where it went. One of the first pictures in
evalbum.com/2466 shows it...

Hey Mike - It looks like you may have shortened your accelerator cable.
Is that true? If so, did you crimp a new post onto the end of the cable,
and how?

Thanks for the help.

I mounted mine on the right side as well, and did not have to shorten the cable.
