Hi,
I have a Porsche 914 that had been converted already by the previous owner. this is my first post about it!

It has lead batteries that are no good and need to be replaced (knew that when I bought it).

I am of course considering Lithium-ion for the weight savings, but am a bit leery of the higher cost.

Here are some details:
I am fairly mechanically inclined. I can handle light body work and medium-level mechanical work. Ironically, I am less skilled at electrical work (lower to mid-level), but want to learn and am looking forward to the challenge. I definitely need help figuring out the "tricks" of wiring and understanding overall electrical theory; reading up on it.
Range: hoping to get 20 miles out of a charge. My commute is 2.7 miles each way, flat, in Los Angeles (so typically some traffic). I ride my bicycle often, but would like an EV backup- otherwise, I have to take the ICE when it rains.

Some other specs:
I have a thread going on this forum, which has been helpful

I have 2 identical controllers, in case you are wondering why its out of the car in the pictures.

I look forward to working on this, with advice and guidance from those more skilled and knowledgeable than me.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Craig
