Subcommittee on Border, Maritime and Global Counterterrorism Hearing

 

“Moving Toward More Effective Immigration Detention Management”

Donald M. Kerwin, Jr., Vice President for Programs, Migration Policy Institute

Brittney Nystrom, Senior Legal Advisor, National Immigration Forum

 

The purpose of this hearing is to receive testimony on the status of the Department of Homeland Security’s immigration detention system and proposed reforms.  Members will have the opportunity to question non-federal witnesses about existing challenges and hear recommendations for improved management.

“The United States Secret Service and Presidential Protection: An Examination of a System Failure”

Michaele Salahi, Private Citizen

 

The purpose of this hearing is to receive testimony concerning security surrounding the White House State Dinner held on Tuesday, November 26, 2009 and corrective actions taken to ensure the security of Secret Service protectees.

The hearing, “Moving Toward More Effective Immigration Detention Management” with the Subcommittee on Border, Maritime and Global Counterterrorism scheduled for Thursday, December 3rd at 10am has been postponed to a date to be announced
