AFTER DISASTERS documentary

Filmmaker Lisa Katzman is currently working on AFTER DISASTERS, a documentary that examines the health and environmental impacts of two of the worst man-made disasters in American history: 9/11 and the BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. The massive public denial and deceptions by politicians and regulatory agencies in connection to both disasters have resulted in avoidable suffering for hundreds of thousands of Americans affected by toxic conditions, as well as dangerous environmental degradation. Lisa participated in and documented many of the trips taken to Washington DC with the 9/11 responders in support of the Zadroga Act.

AFTER DISASTERS tells the story of disaster survivors in New York and in the Gulf Coast region who are leading the battles for just health care and compensation, environmental testing and remediation, transparency on the part of governmental agencies, and implementation of existing EPA and OSHA regulations in the aftermath of future disasters.
