  The day ride submittal form already has a box for pace information. I fill it in. Some other leaders do, some do not &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Every leader has their style. That is part of the glory of the 5BBC. We all conform to the core values of the club. Beyond that its a question of style and indeed that can change. Sometimes leaders are leading a bike ride. Sometimes its a tour by bicycle and they stop the tour at various places to give a small talk or draw your attention to some point of interest. I personally haven&#39;t run a ride of my own that for the latter yet. I am considering it for my Nov 4 ride as I collect trivia and such about the World&#39;s Fair.... it will depend on the weather, I think people are more tolerant in 60 degree weather than 40-50 deg

  I figured that. Any way we can adapt a similarly informative system that fits the 5BBC personality? &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I think we can stick with Quick Spin, Regular, and Happy Face, but we have to better define what that means so we don&#39;t end up with people who really didn&#39;t want to go fast bailing out and onto the train because they can&#39;t feel they can keep up (or at least be happy about it) and alternatively people who are just naturally quicker who feel frustrated by ending up on rides that take far longer than they could have possibly imagined.

  Do we have anything against, say, adopting the NYCC category list? &lt;br&gt; Only that it is the NYCC category list. &lt;br&gt; We are not the NYCC we do rides for fun and socializing.   Not everyone who does 15mph on flats does 12mph up a 3% grade and then you get a 6% grade. In addition is the question of long the climb runs Short steep climbs don&#39;t scatter the group as much as a longer but more moderate climb. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;15mph is not my idea of Quick Spin. I cruise at 15mph on my 30lb hybrid (not just casual boppin along, that&#39;s my touring bike). Quick Spin means also not just fast but a style of ride. In 5BBC parlance, Quick Spin is often done -wthout- point/drop/sweep.

  I think rides roughly fall into 3 groups: slow, medium and fast. The majority fall under &amp;quot;medium&amp;quot;: those which don&#39;t speicfy slow or fast. The definition of each varies based on what kind of ride it is: urban, country, suburban, on-road or off-road on greenways (dirt roads are specifically mentioned when applicable).

  U r welcome Danny. Of course u r remembered for your record as Day &lt;br&gt; Trips Coordinator. I think I told u this before, but I thought u were &lt;br&gt; doing a great job. I don&#39;t ever remember a time that the club didn&#39;t &lt;br&gt; offer good rides, but the variety of locations increased noticeable &lt;br&gt; during your shift so to speak.

Not a biggie of course. But perhaps Danny can create guidelimes &lt;br&gt; for Day Ride descriptions for such specifics to be always included -
