Subject: OFF ROAD VISTAS: KENSICO DAM RIDE FOR SUNDAY APRIL 2ND
For everyone going on Kensico Dam Ride Sunday April 2nd, be advised
that the MTA's No. 2 train is being replaced with shuttle buses between
241 and East 180 St. So, take the 5 train to the last stop, Dyer Ave.
stop. Go north one block to 233rd St. Make a left. At the split with
Granada Pl.. bear right to continue on 233rd St. to White Plains Rd.
and the meeting point. Sorry for the inconvenience. I don't run the
trains. My opnion, Lionel could do a better job.

Greetings,

I'm a bit confused about this ride. It's called "off-road vistas" and
yet it's "paved" and "15mph", that doesn't sound like off-road ride?
Can I bring a regular road bike for this ride or MTB would be more
appropriate? Thanks.

Adam

Adam - as you'll see on the description of the ride, it says it's a
"bike journey for regular bikes".
"Off-road" means that they will be using bike paths, which in this case
are paved (the Bronx River Parkway has an off-street, paved, path that
runs parallel for most of the Parkway's route between Tuckahoe and the
Valhalla).

As for the pace, it is listed as "10-15" mph - I expect that Ed D. will
be going at much closer to 10 mph on the serpentine Bronx River path.

Hope we'll see you on the ride!

Thanks :o) Ah, to me "off-road" means off paved roads, rugged terrain
like in "off-road vehicle" so 15mph sounded too fast for that. Anyway,
either way it's fine with me, 15mp is not a problem either, I just
wanted to make sure  I won't look silly if I bring a wrong bike - but
it looks like either MTB or road bike will do for this one :o)))
Cheers!

Adam
