USA 7571 for sale

USA 7571, "Penny Benjamin", is for sale. Three 505s is too many, so I'm passing on my first one. She is extensivly rebuilt, ready to race tomorrow, and a fantastic way to start in the class.

 

7571 is a mid-80s Parker with a bow launcher and foam coring at the waterline. She spent about seven years not sailing in Austin before I picked her up. Every single piece of wood on the boat has been replaced during an extensive rebuild '07-'08--the foredeck is beautiful--and every single bit of hardware on her has similarly been replaced. Long luff kite, Spiro pole launcher, ram, fully adjustable rig (Proctor D), all the usual goodies. Comes with a Rapide-like trailer/dolly combo, set of useable covers, two sets of sails (kevlar racers and practice dacrons) and one kite. She is worth the price in just hardware. It's hard to let her go, but if I could give my girl a 505 instead of a diamond ring, we'd be married already. Three times, actually.

 

 $3k takes her. I refuse to let her go without sailing her with the prospective owner at least once to ensure everything's working right and that you know the boat. Delivery possible most anywhere in California for the patient. Happy to help get a new crew started in the class--I guess you could say this boat comes with an extended service plan. Mainly I just can't let go easily.
